They’ve already got existing audiences ready and waiting to purchase your product (and sometimes on a massive scale). But which ones are right for you? We’ve took the time to look at over 60 marketplaces out there at the moment taking into account their targeted locations, the type of products they’re great for and the fees that they include.
1. Amazon
Global with marketplaces in: USA, UK, Italy, Spain, Australia, Brazil, Germany, France, Japan, Netherlands, India, Mexico, Canada & China.

Overview:
The number 1 shopping marketplace (with maybe the exception of AliBaba) Amazon sells pretty much everything you can think of and enables you to start selling straight away and even manages the fulfilment if required. Reports suggest that Amazon’s average conversion rate is approx 13% however a Prime member conversion rate is over 70% – perhaps a reason to consider FBA?
Fees:
These vary depending on the type of product that you sell, however fee’s start from 7%. Payment processing fee’s are also included within this fee.
2. eBay
Global, with marketplaces in: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, USA, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Netherlands, Philippines, Polish, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, UK, Vietnam

Everything – You name it, eBay sells it
Overview:
One of the original marketplaces and first launched in 1995. Ebay provides a great platform to get started on and a wide range of features and functionality to build your own store.
Fees:
These vary depending on if you have a store and how many items you list however you can expect to pay a small listing fee as well as a final value fee which start from 6%. Payment is processed separately with PayPal being the processor of choice, which of course ebay owns as well!
3. Rakuten
Global, with marketplaces in: UK, Austria, Brazil, Germany, Japan, Spain, Taiwan, USA

Overview:
One of the largest e commerce platforms in the world, this platform is sometimes forgotten about but is a worthy consideration!
Fees:
There is a monthly and listing fee which varies depending on the country and a sales commission starting from 8% depending on the category. Fee’s include payment processing fees.
4. Wayfair

Overview:
Wayfair will generally contact you to see if you are interested in working with them but there is no harm dropping them an email! They are a big player in the home furnishing market and is one of the largest retailers in this vertical.
5. Privalia
Great for:
Fashion, Home & Decor
Overview:
A great way to sell discounted/end of line goods (minimum discount 30% of RRP) within Spain or Italy without affecting your UK sales channel. Privalia handle all of the customer service and returns, very similar to the dropship model.

13% for retailers, 15% for brands.
6. Laso.jp

A prominent ecommerce marketplace in Japan. Based in Tokyo they focus on selling high end luxury fashion items.
7. MarkaVIP
Middle East
Great for:

Overview:
The largest fashion and lifestyle website within the Arabic speaking world. MarkaVIP handles all of the transaction, once goods have been dispatched the rest of the sales process is handled by MarkaVIP including customer service and returns.

8. Spartoo

Overview:
A presence in a number of countries and originally setup to sell shoes, Spartoo has grown to stock over 1,000 brands. Registering to sell on the marketplace is reviewed on a per seller basis with contact details available on the website.
9. Trade Me
New Zealand

Overview:
With over 3.6 million members this is New Zealand’s largest marketplace and while that might not sound high, it is worth remembering that the entire population is 4.5 million. If you are looking to sell in this market it is worth investigating.

With 10 million registered users this platform is perfect for those selling luxury to mid to high range fashion products. A variety of services are offered to assist in the sales process including Customer Service handled by XIU in the local language.
11. Allegro

With more than a million sales per day and based in a growing ecommerce market (22%), Allegro provides a range of selling tools to get you up and running.

12. Etsy

A well known and established marketplace for sellers who make their own products. Etsy has a loyal customer following and a wide range of selling tools to boost your sales.

13. Not on the High Street

Multi Category focusing on unique gifts
Overview:
Not on the High Street is a growing shopping destination and rated No.1 in the UK for curated marketplaces, it has a global reach, so if you are selling something ‘a little different’ then this is a marketplace for consideration.
Fees:
Pay a one-off joining fee, but then there’s no charges to list your products.

Touted as an Amazon competitor, Jet has built a large shopping destination in a relatively short space of time, with a variety of tools and support to get you started, if you sell in the US, this one should be on your list.

There’s no fees for joining or listing products on Jet.com, you simply pay a commission which vary depending on the product category starting from 8%.

The biggest marketplace of them all (including Amazon) sells everything, if not a suitable channel to sell your product it may prove useful when sourcing new products.

Mercado Libre provides a Cross Border Trade program for sellers not located in Latin America. It currently covers Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Chile, with plans to expand the program to all the countries it operates in.
